"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Paul does not cite any verses, yet he says that the death and resurrection of Christ happened "according to the Scriptures"; what Scriptures does he have in mind? If we could sit down with Paul and ask him to elaborate, which passages would he take us to that would support his claim that Christ not only "died for our sins," but was "raised on the third day according to the Scriptures?"
