God has made us, every single person, in his image. Or, to put it in Solomon's words, "[God] has put eternity into man's heart" (3:11). Among many other things, this means that God has put into every one of us an innate sense that this life, what we can see, feel, hear, touch, etc., is not all there is. There is a greater purpose to our lives than merely going to work day after day, doing load after load of laundry and dishes, going to class after class, obtaining any amount of wealth, or indulging in any kind of pleasure.
The Song of the Redeemed
I was afforded the opportunity to preach at my church during the Sunday evening service last night, and I chose to preach from Revelation 14:1-5. Then I looked, and behold, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar … Continue reading The Song of the Redeemed
Take Heart: Christ Has Overcome
It would be easy to now cower in fear, as Jesus's disciples did when they hid in an upper room after his death, and stay silent, which is exactly what Charlie Kirk's shooter, and all who celebrate it, want us to do.
Raised with Christ
In the past nearly two years since I have written on this blog, a lot has changed for me. My wife and I welcomed our first child, Seoirse, into this world on July 2, 2024. She has been such a tremendous blessing to us, and we could not have asked God for a more beautiful … Continue reading Raised with Christ
No Place Like Home
Growing up as a pastor's grandkid, along with having parents who were faithful in raising their four boys in the "discipline and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4), meant that for nearly every single week for all of my 25 years of life, I have been at church whenever the doors are open as much … Continue reading No Place Like Home
Artificial Intelligence and Christian Living
Recently, there has been a surge, both in development and in conversation, of what is known as Artificial Intelligence, or AI. While admittedly, I have nothing to offer the world in terms of what the development of AI actually looks like, and I probably do not have much to offer the world either in terms … Continue reading Artificial Intelligence and Christian Living
Reflections On My First Year Of Seminary
A little over three years ago, I underwent a seismic shift in the way I thought about God and his Word. To summarize as briefly as possible, I was confronted with the reality that God is truly sovereign over all of his creation, including the very salvation of mankind. Previously, I had only paid lip … Continue reading Reflections On My First Year Of Seminary

Providence, Plagues, and Power
If you grew up in church like I did, likely one of the main stories in the Bible that you learned of is in Exodus where Moses goes before Pharaoh and asks him to let the Israelite people go, who had been subjected to slavery to the Egyptians for over 400 years. Over the course … Continue reading Providence, Plagues, and Power
Abide and Continue
In this sermon from 1 John 2:18-27, I unpack four truths that John gives us in this passage. First, he warns the people against antichrists and false teachings (v.18-19).Second, he affirms that the people he is writing to are in the truth (v.20-21).Third, he goes into more detail in descirbing the antichrists, and give the … Continue reading Abide and Continue
